About
Artist, maker, storyteller—Preslie Such moves through creativity with curiosity and care. Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, she holds a degree in Studio Art and History from LSU (2023), where she built a foundation in visual storytelling, material exploration, and the quiet power of objects to hold meaning.
While studying, she was drawn to the world of three-dimensional design - the act of shaping raw materials into something tangible, something with presence. Working across disciplines, she explored how form, texture, and historical context shape our interactions with art. But it wasn’t until after graduation, while working in a local ceramics studio, that she found a medium that truly clicked. Clay became both a process and a language—one that blended the tactile joy of making with the meditative rhythm of shaping, refining, and bringing form to life.
Now, her practice exists at the intersection of function, playfulness, and storytelling. She crafts objects that are meant to be held, used, and loved—everyday pieces that bring warmth, nostalgia, and a sense of connection. Whether it’s a hand-thrown mug, a sculptural form, or a new creative experiment, her work is a reflection of her belief that the things we surround ourselves with should feel personal, intentional, and full of soul.
Beyond her own practice, Preslie is dedicated to fostering a deeper appreciation for handmade goods and the stories they carry. Through her work, she hopes to create not just objects, but experiences—moments of joy, comfort, and quiet beauty in the ordinary. Looking ahead, she is expanding her creative practice, growing her art business, and building a community that values artistry, craftsmanship, and the magic of things made by hand. Because when something is created with intention, you don’t just see it—you feel it.
